Qadri gets death sentence in Salman Taseer’s murder

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) awarded death penalty to Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri on Saturday, DawnNews reported. Faith and Butterfly effect Story of a devastated Pakistani Village

by Awaam “Aik insaan ka qatal poori insaniyat ka qatal hai” Quran ( Killing one human being is akin to killing whole Humanity) “Musalman wo hai jis k haath oar zuban se doosray musalman mehfooz rahain”  Hadith a(Muslim is the one, the evil of whose hand and tongue does not touch other Muslims) These were the commandments of God and His prophet that we distributed, among the flood affectees in the form of leaflets, along with the aid items a few months back in Drab Majoke, Charsaddah. To be honest, I was not very sure when getting these leaflets printed, whether anyone will bother to read them or not, especially considering the calamity these poor people faced.  We were also not sure about the level of the literacy in the camp and interest these people had in such ‘Bookish Activities’. May be it was simply our arrogance and pride.   However the hope that even if one person reads it and may ponder and reflect over it, encouraged us to undertake the endeavour.

Deen e mullah fi sabeel Allah fasaad

By Awaam Hot on the heels of Salman Taseer’s murder two further events have happened, although these have not caught the eye of the media as much. First a medical representative accused a doctor of blasphemy, when the doctor threw away his visiting card which had the word Muhammad as part of his name. And then, three days ago, another shocking news has come from Muzafargarh. This time a 45 year old Imam of a local mosque, who has recently performed his hajj and his 20 year old son were handed down life sentences on the charges of blasphemy.

JINNAH’S PAKISTAN: IS IT IMPLODING?

By Samson Simon Sharaf Like most Pakistanis, I was stunned in disbelief to see the breaking news of the late Salman Taseer’s assassination; Not that I am a fan but rather, the direction in which Pakistan is headed. Like every citizen of this country who believes in Jinnah’s vision, I was disturbed and saddened by events that followed.
